The Puppet Show

Previously I have written about my kids' story-telling session. But now, they have upgraded it to a puppet show. It was Angah's idea. She gathered about 2 or 3 soft toys, then she went to my office high back chair and turn the chair around. With the back of the chair facing the audience and her hiding behind it, she raised her arms with a soft toy in each hand.

Then the show began. The Duck would start a simple conversation to the Koala Bear. Sometimes, the characters could be the Pink Bear and the Yellow Bear. Her voice changed to suit the character. The conversation would normally went like, "Hi, how are you?" or "Hi, what's your name?" The other puppet would say, "Oh, my name is Pink Bear/I'm the Duck." The next line would go something like, "Where are you going?"

Then she didn't know how to finish the conversation, so Angah would quickly say, "End of the show!"

And the ever faithful audience was Adik Insyirah who would gleefully clap her hands and asked for more!

Later Along copying Angah's idea became the puppeteer and both of them created their own story. It's fun watching them. I just let them be as creative as they wanted. Being children, they should enjoy themselves more. It's fun being a kid.

So let them be. I still have a lot to learn from them. I just know that the time will come for me to become one of the puppeteers, hence, I had better start paying attention. As it is right now, I have enough on my mind. I still can't figure out who is Pinky in the Rollie Pollie Ollie or which colour is Buttercup, Blossom and Bubble in the Power Puff Girls.

Sometimes, Along refused to play with any green toy. At first, I wondered why. Then I realised that green is the official colour for Buttercup. And Along is not Buttercup. She's Blossom (or was it Bubble?). She preferrs red.

Not that I have to know all the name of my girls, now I have to memorize the non-de-plume of their choice. One fine day, Angah could claim that she's Buttercup. On another day, she could be Billy from Rollie Pollie Ollie.

Most of the time, I'm confused!
