The best part of shopping

Finally, the biggest shopping mall in Seremban has been launched recently. But the ironic part is that it is not located in Seremban, but Seremban 2 (S2) instead. For those who hasn't been to S2, it is new township. I watched the town grow up, in my own way.

Back then, I was among the solicitors in-charge of the housing project in S2. The firm that I worked with (Nor Affiza & Co) was the panel lawyers chosen to handle the legal documentation for the buyers. I had a love-hate relationship with S2. There is something about S2 that I like but I just could not put my fingers on it.

Soon the whole administration of Negeri Sembilan, might shift to S2. As it is right now, the Seremban Court Complex, the Seremban District Police Dept and Fire Dept has already been placed there.

And now, Jusco S2 is here to stay. I'm not much of a shopping person. Shopping is indeed not the way for me to kill the time. But the best part about having Jusco here at S2 is that it comes with Seremban's very own MPH! Now, we don't have to go all the way to MPH Mid-Valley or One Utama. We can just drop by at Jusco.

I went to check out the place about 2 weeks ago. Not bad. It's huge. Ample parking space. But the shops are mainly for window shopping. I wonder if the Seremban people might buy those kind of items displayed there. But, good quality items can also be found there. I managed to get a good handbag at a good discount, since most of the shops are having an opening sale. I also appreciate the Secret Recipe there.

MPH Jusco S2 is nothing compared to the one at Mid-Valley or One Utama, of course. But at least it is a good start. We in Seremban do need a good place to shop for books. The best that we have so far is Popular Books Store and Bookmark (an MPH subsidiary) at Giant Senawang. Still, they sell more school books compared to other books of interest. The rest of the bookstores in Seremban also focus on school books - that's where the money are!

Another Popular outlet should be opening soon at Jusco S2. But then again, Popular Bookstore is a place where one buy a good stationery and they provide ample choice. When it comes to books, MPH is still the best, to me.

The supermarket is just another supermarket. Nothing much to brag. There's a whole 'street' for restaurant and food outlet (near the Secret Recipe and the Kopitiam). It does look like a street. This one you have to see for yourself.

For Seremban standard, it is quite ok. At least, when I'm driving home from the PLUS Highway, I know a place to drop by. It is less crowded that Terminal One Shopping Centre. I only go to Terminal 1 for movies. There is not much place to hang out in Seremban, that is. Besides Terminal One, there's Seremban Parade. But it has not many shops there too.

Anyone else had a good shopping experience at the new Jusco?
